Carmin C. Reiss is a principal of Resolutions, LLC. A former litigator, Ms. Reiss has had an active mediation practice for over thirty years. Her practice is focused on large, complex, multi-party controversies, as well as smaller matters, in a wide variety of legal areas, including mass tort, product liability, environmental, construction, commercial, insurance, employment, professional liability, and trusts and estates. Ms. Reiss has also served as court-appointed Trustee or Claims Administrator for Trusts and Settlement Funds formed through Bankruptcy proceedings or Multi-District Litigation. Most recently, she served as the Trustee and Claims Administrator for the Insys Victims Restitution Fund.
Prior to forming Resolutions, LLC with Prof. Eric Green, Ms. Reiss was a Senior Mediator with JAMS/EnDispute, a member of the Middlesex Multi-door Courthouse mediator panel, a member of the FDIC’s mediation roster, and an approved mediator for EPA matters, including large superfund cases. In law practice, she was a trial lawyer with the former Bingham firm in Boston. Ms. Reiss is an Adjunct Professor at Suffolk University Law School, where she has taught the course on Negotiation for more than ten years.
Ms. Reiss also has extensive experience in municipal government. She has served as the elected Town Moderator for the Town of Concord, MA for 9 years, a role regularly requiring her to moderate controversial public issues. Previously she served as an elected member of the town’s executive board for two terms. She is currently President of the Massachusetts Moderators Association.
