Dwight Golann has been a mediator for more than two decades and has resolved hundreds of legal disputes in a wide variety of subject areas. He is the author of the American Bar Association’s leading book on mediation technique, Mediating Legal Disputes, as well as several other works. A Professor at the University of California-San Francisco College of Law, he has trained mediators for federal courts, the Department of Justice, Federal Judicial Center, European Union, and ADR organizations around the world. In addition to being a Senior Mediator with Resolutions, he is a member of the panels of the CPR Institute and the International Mediation Institutes.
Professor Golann was formerly a litigator in private practice. He also served as Deputy Chief of the Public Protection Bureau and Chief of the Government Bureau and Trial Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, where he litigated enforcement actions and later supervised the defense of all litigation filed against the state. Professor Golann has tried and argued cases at every level of the American court system and is the recipient of awards from the American and Massachusetts Bar Associations and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators.
